IMPORTANT UPDATE ON TEMPORARY LIMITATION OF BRANCH COUNTER SERVICES
On September 28, 2021 the Prime Minister of Japan announced that the government is lifting the State of Emergency and Quasi-Emergency Measures on all affected prefectures beginning October 1, 2021.
As the State of Emergency for both Tokyo and Osaka will be lifted, the Metrobank Japan’s Temporary Limitation of Branch Counter Services such as limitations on acceptance of remittance transactions services and remittance registration services will be lifted and Normal Operations (Reception) will resume on October 1,2021.
We still strongly request our Customers to use NON-FACE-TO-FACE CONTACT SERVICES as much as possible in order to avoid having our valued customers and dedicated employees exposed to health risks due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In addition, please be advised of the following:
- Application of courier services will remain unavailable until further notice as the operations of courier service companies in the Philippines remains unstable due to ongoing government quarantine guidelines in response to the current pandemic.
- Application for opening Metrobank’s OFW Philippines Peso ATM Accounts, a Foreign Bank Agency Service, will only be entertained for confirmed scheduled appointments done thru online reservation.
To avoid any inconvenience and for your safety, we highly recommend all customers to refrain from visiting our branch counters. In case of any unavoidable difficult circumstances /cases, please call using contact information below.
